Hajj is obligatory to the Muslim:

Every adult Muslim who is physically and financially enable is under an Obligation to perform Hajj once in lifetime. Many Muslims spend their entire lives saving and planning for this journey; others make the pilgrimage more than once if they are able.

Haaj symbolizes:

Hajj basically is the re-enactment of the Highlighted and the most important events of the life of Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim A.S).

Hajj also symbolizes the lessons taught by the final prophet, Muhammad (Peace be Upon HIM), who stood on the plain of Arafat, proclaimed the completion of his mission and announced the proclamation of God: "This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam, or submission to (God) ALLAH, as your religion" (Quran 5:3).

This great annual convention of faith demonstrates the concept of equality of mankind, the most profound message of Islam, which allows no superiority on the basis of race, gender or social status. The only preference in the eyes of God is piety as stated in the Quran: "The best amongst you in the eyes of God is most righteous."

Why are only Muslims allowed in Makkah:

Makkah an Medina the centers of pilgrimage and prayers to the Muslims all around the world, both of the cities has a great importance in Islamic tradition, the ban on the Non-Muslim in Makkah is commanded by the Holy Quran:

"Oh you who believe! Truly the idolaters are unclean; so let them not, after this year, approach the Sacred Mosque...." (9:28). Ihram:

Iharam is the name given to the state that every Pilgrim should be in and is the garment consist of two pieces of white sheet wrap around the waist to cover the body from the navel to ankle. The covering of head doesn’t includes in the Ihram state. No under garments is allowed and the Ihram preferably has to be in white color.

Ihram for Women:

According to the conditions of Islamic public dress for women the Ihram can be made in any dress they wish, no specific color is mentioned. The head should be covered but no need to cover the face or hand.

Restrictions while the Ihram is on

A Muhrim (some one who is on the state of Ihram) should keep his head uncovered all the time. Women should keep their head cover all the time

No shaving, hair cutting, nail clipping, use of perfume or putting on any sewn cloth of any kind.

Do not kill any animal of any kind for any reason, unless it poses a danger to you and tootherss

No conjugal relationship with your spouse. Avoid suggestive or proactive talk or gestures and remain focused on Hajj.

Health:

All the Pilgrims must follow the Health criteria as follow: All the pilgrims must be certified against the Meningococcal Meningitis, the certificate must have been issued not more than 3 years or less than 10 days from the arrival to Saudi Arabia.

Pilgrims arriving from the countries known as infected with yellow fever must be certified against the fever, In the absence of certificate the person will be vaccinated and will be under an strict observation for 6 days.

If the authenticity of the vaccination certificate is felt to be questionable, revaccination is to be carried out. Chemoprophylaxis will be administered to all visitors from these countries to lower the carrier rate among them

Visitors from African countries will be checked at the entry points and if suspected of not being vaccinated, the person would be isolated and preventive measures will be taken in respect of their direct contact.

Disability:

The Holy Quran makes it clear that only those who are physically and financially capable are under an obligation to perform Hajj, that said, there are many disabled who wishes to perform Hajj and, if enough arrangements are made they can fulfill their wish, make sure that each and every arrangements are made in advance for disable Pilgrims weather it is the transportation or the stay at any Hotel.

The Masjid Al-Haram is very well equipped for the disables it has free wheel chairs and has many ramps and escalators.

Sacrificing:

The Islamic development Bank has set up Booths around Makkah and Mina to facilitate buying coupons for slaughtering and the distribution of the sacrificial animal.

Sacrifice can be made by your agent on your behalf , the one performing the sacrifice must eat a part of the sacrificial animal and the butcher can’t get any part of it in lieu of his wages as it is meant for charity.

Use of Technology:

Pilgrims are under no obligation of using useful electronic gadgets like Cellular phones, you can use the phone to stay in touch with your group, agent or with your home. SIM card are available in most phone shops in Makkah and Medina which are valid for a month or so but make sure your phone accepts any SIM card or service provider.

Safety:

The followings are the safety instruction for you and others around you while heading for the stoning Rite:

Adherence to the schedules designated for you by the Mutawwif.

Adherence to the lanes designated for proceeding to the Jamarat and returning therefrom.

Avoid pushing your fellow pilgrims and proceed quietly and calmly.

Do not carry personal effects.

Do not walk against the direction of the traffic.

Eating and Drinking:

You may drink bottled drinking mineral water or from the fountain all around the Holy sites Pilgrims are not allowed to eat during the Tawaf but they can drink water

Hajj is expected to fall between October 24-29, 2012.
